i've been pinning myself with my own critiques hitting all the pavement in my summer sneaks trying to get through these next two weeks without a scrape on my face i open doors politely to humble my hands in the middle of a movie or a grandstand it's not the place that i love--it's the demand for knowledge and grace i try to keep my thoughts slow but they spin on picking up fun quirks and chasing the odds i thought childhood would last all life long but it's already been replaced i've been measuring the rhythms of these steps kicking back at all my pulsing regrets releasing hollow tides with hopeless threats to build myself some space and here it is long at last! a self-titled photograph the people and places that make me laugh cutting all my worries in half to make or break the future to make or break the future oh! i am the rock that will outlast the haziness i once harassed i'm lacing up my purple summer sneaks working hard on all the proper techniques i want to be a human with historical mystique a proper lady in time i'm turning up the volume on my hot sauce giving back what i can to my clever boss dismantling my youth, already cut my loss with the sharpest knife i could find everyday adventures to climb and dismount what had been discredited and left out i have a solution for all of my doubts: celebrate what is solely mine! i've been pinning myself with my own critiques hitting all the pavement in my summer sneaks trying to get through these next two weeks without a scrape on my face i open doors politely to humble my hands in the middle of a movie or a grandstand it's not the place that i love--it's the demand for knowledge and grace i'll celebrate what is solely mine as i become a proper lady with time

they demolished my favorite place in this city a perfect metaphor for what i know will happen to me crushed between the pressure of south omaha no democratic resurrection or curtain call this is where my family history begins and this is where all of my pride ends i'm destined to fall down upon my knees kneeling before all the powers that be no more towering iron inside my lungs not a soul in sight that would ever speak up i will disintegrate as soon as i take their bait... there ain't no more rosenblatt they bulldozed it down flat collapsed just like my dreams all those red, blue & yellow seats i was there when they took out home plate i was there on all those hot summer days i used to sweat beneath the glowing press box catching balls off the net and walking the walk i worked as hard as i could to vivify my old neighborhood you know, i gave it all of my guts just so the city could take it away from us oh south omaha, you know, we used to have it all...

Complex bones, formaldehyde Nicotine cravings curled up inside Old-fashioned piano rolls Nothing worse than growing old I borrowed a nickel to play a tune Because my friends were leaving soon Suspicion raised in a gambler’s feast To dodge a bullet and find the beast America was falling fast They said we lost the middle class I wasn’t sure of the conversation So I waited outside instead Interested in the loneliness of drinks Bought for you by the one you’ll never have Cause everything you need to know Is found upon that hollow road To keep moving along that rocky path You won’t need a map…you’ll just need some nerve Oh Generation Y [] [] [] [] The tipping point of melted steel Chasing down a proper meal I’ve seen the multicolored mines That poison lungs and damage eyes And we tried to fix the environment But it is a crisis locked inside the strip Of all our dead presidents… So we go out at night to feel better about our actions throughout the day But we still feel so empty inside and so damn commonplace We can work at jobs we love but we won’t make any money And I’ve watched so many friends corrupt themselves to pocket some milk & honey I am terrified by what won’t happen in my life Will I criminalize everything I once perceived as right? I am introverted and queer All in all a lonely fear Of Generation Y

There ain’t no slowing When you try to get commotion If you calm yourself down You’ll still reel from emotion Every step that you take is gonna ring again Until you reach out for something greater than a bitter end There ain’t no stopping When you feel your life rocking If you balance any thoughts Then you better start talking Every word you compress will spring from your chest Like a hawk on a wire singing for progress And they say we can’t do it alone We’ve got to write poetry made of our bones Express something great than our lives Let go of our doubts with every try Recall the fire we left in our caves Before we were afraid of making mistakes There ain’t no disguise For the cage of your eyes If you love someone you can’t criminalize Every action of compassion that you baptize With a wave of your hands a smile of lies There ain’t no commission For a power position When you’re playing for the role of greatest musician Every chord that you strum Will make you feel numb Until you go back to where you came from Like a hawk on a wire!!

Marzo Novena 03:30
find the courage inside you make believe if you have to you shall conquer the past with a look in the mirror & a laugh so take each step with pride and don't you dare deny every moment held in wonder when it's time to share with another all that you've been hiding inside yourself all that you've been locking away all that you've been praying would leave until you decided today was the day and there's no refuting that it is as scary as hell when you've got something this big to tell but it is for the best to get this stuff off your chest... and the wisdom shared is a perception for the prime you know they care about what happens in your life with your bravery and their love to carry you mile after mile you'll be living for progress and making each second worthwhile you needed help and they offered it and now you'll never be alone again there is love! there is love! there is love! there is no need for you to give up! there is love! there is love! there is love! there is no need for you to give up! just love! the world is waiting for your inspiration anticipating their regeneration... there is love! there is love! there is love! there is no need for you to give up!

In the still of the evening My legs move on believing There is goodness in the darkness All reason uncharted By the dawn of the black (k)night There is craving still held tight I am patient in my steps Cautious right, cautious left There is treason in my thoughts Gilded creatures’ tainted plots My legs move in solidarity With the righteousness of humanity Despite what some people have done to me I still believe in equality Or at least equal opportunity I will always survive! Death keeps life alive! In the still of the day break My fingers tremble and shake There is fear in misfortune All life born distorted By the first rays of the sun Each chore stings my tongue There is treason in my thoughts Gilded creatures’ tainted plots My legs move in solidarity With the righteousness of humanity Despite what some people have done to me I still believe in equality I will always survive! Death keeps life alive!

"Orange!" 04:11
The speed of salt and crimson through your fingers The lines of oil that penetrate and linger All heat upon your back will vanish in the morning To shake the darkness from all your pointless hoping There’s misery and then there’s pitied boredom The thoughts and dreams that dash like water when you hold them All heat upon your back will hit the road & run To finally lead the charge against counsel’s tongue Without a goal the mind shouts, “orange!” A blinding cry that conceals and divorces The body from the cerebral realm The perfecting beating of the total self In need The dizzy days filled with endless stretches The questioned egos and consulted guesses All sweat swims down your back until midnight When ease descends to heal damaged delight Timid knowledge bound in leather books sneaky people with all their dirty looks All sweat swims down your back in time Weaving patterns of your grime Without a goal the mind shouts, “orange!” A blinding cry that conceals and divorces The body from the cerebral realm The perfecting beating of the total self At rest
